Uttero ("we", "us", "our") provides a voice channel service that enables AI agents to communicate with users via real-time audio. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our services at uttero.dev and associated applications.
2. Information We Collect
Account Information: When you sign in via Google OAuth, we receive your email address and basic profile information (name, profile picture) from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Voice Data: Audio transmitted during voice calls is processed in real-time for speech-to-text conversion and is not stored after the call ends. Transcriptions may be temporarily held in memory during an active session and are discarded when the session concludes.
Usage Data: We collect basic usage metrics such as call duration, connection timestamps, and error logs to maintain and improve the service.
3. How We Use Your Information

4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:
- AI Model Providers: Transcribed text is sent to AI language model providers (e.g., Anthropic, Google, Groq) to generate responses during active calls. These providers process data according to their own privacy policies.
- Infrastructure Providers: We use cloud services (Fly.io, Modal, Netlify) to host and operate our platform. These providers may process data as necessary to provide their services.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights and safety.
5. Data Security
We implement reasonable security measures including:
- WebSocket connections secured with TLS encryption
- JWT-based authentication tokens with expiration
- Credential files stored with restricted file permissions (600)
- No persistent storage of voice audio data
6. Data Retention
Voice audio is processed in real-time and not retained after calls end. Account information is retained as long as your account is active. Usage logs are retained for up to 90 days for operational purposes.
7. Your Rights
You may request to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Delete your account and associated data
- Revoke Google OAuth access through your Google Account settings
8. Children's Privacy
Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify users of material changes via email or through the service.
